For some us Spring time can be a very stressful time of year.  Taxes are due, exams, and spring cleaning are just a few things that can weigh us down.  Stress impacts everyone, no matter who you are. It’s true that some people are better at dealing with it than others, but dealing with stress is a skill we all hone over a lifetime and few totally master.  Here are just a few everyday tips to help reduce the amount of stress in your life.

Get Some Sun

You’ve heard for years that too much sun will kill you. That’s still true in an abstract “you could get skin cancer” kind of way. But the truth is that 10 minutes of a little sun on your skin each day is good for you. In fact, it’s a stress buster.  Ever wondered why you feel a little down in the winter? It’s because you probably don’t get enough sun. Sunlight helps your body maintain its mood by impacting the level of serotonin your brain produces. More serotonin means a boost in your mood, so do something outside today to lift your spirits and keep that stress away.

Meditate

Meditation has many forms, so do a little research and go with one that appeals to you. It can help you avoid stress and focus your mind. If you need help deciding what type of meditation is best for you, just ask.

Massage It Out

Studies have shown that a touch massage for as little as five minutes can decrease your heart rate and reduce your body’s stress response. That’s why, if you have the resources, you should head to a local massage therapist for treatment. If not, then you can always bribe a friend or family member to rub your back for a few minutes.

See the Chiropractor

Chiropractic is a great way to reduce stress! While you may not need to see them every day, regular chiropractic adjustments can help your body to function optimally. A body working at its very best is a body that can handle any stress that comes its way!
